Rest in Peace Lynda
Rest in Peace Lynda

Friday's Memorial Service for Lynda Murphy was very special, and I wanted you all to know how enormously grateful her family (Simon, Daniel and Dylan) were for the celebration of her life held here at King's College. Simon has sent me a couple of messages and asked that I pass on his sincere thanks to all.

Nominations for next year's KCSC Executive will close soon for the election to be held on Sunday 13 October. Membership of the KCSC Executive is not for the fainthearted – it's a serious amount of work and it requires real dedication and commitment. I wish all candidates well as you consider the options before you.

There is so much happening in the weeks ahead – KCSC elections, interviews for various leadership roles, ICC Athletics, Dancefest, Parents' Cocktail party, King's in Pink and more. I'd like to give a particular request for your support of King's in Pink. This is a great initiative started by Thérèse and it has grown each year – and it is a very worthy cause close to the hearts of so many in this community.

Finally, thank you to the KCSC Executive and the Ball convenors, Hamish Andreas and Charlie Wigan, for their organisation of a brilliant Ball weekend. I hope you all enjoy the mid-semester break – it's a great opportunity to catch up and prepare for the last frantic weeks before examinations start again.
