My Last Semester

As I begin my last semester at the College I pause to think about those who are joining me. Most of the third years in College will probably move on at the end of this year also. We don't have that much in common (given our differing ages) but we've all enjoyed a wonderful time here - mine is for 21 years while they have spent three. We have all learned a great deal, engaged in the life of the College and will take many happy memories with us along with special friendships. We have all, I hope, given more to the College than we have taken from it. That is a lesson for all who remain after our departures - keep giving to the College so that it benefits from your generous offerings and continuing support.

This is also my opportunity to encourage your return. I often think of those who leave at the end of a first or second year and feel they have somehow missed out on what is possibly the best year of all - Year 3. Third years are leaders, they are more knowledgeable, they are more experienced in the life of the College and they should leave an important legacy on their departure - of course they could always stay for a 4th!

As Therese and I begin what seems like the long farewell, I look forward to farewelling those who have given so much in their time here and celebrating those who wish to keep giving to their College into 2026.

Thank you all.

Greg
