A guide to what recruitment takes place and when.
A guide to what recruitment takes place and when.

Understanding the recruitment timeline is important, especially with various programs and internships operating on different schedules. To help you navigate this, I've prepared a handy guide to keep you on track:

Summer Internships

Application Period: Usually May to July in your penultimate (second from last) year but some of the larger companies start recruitment as early as February.

Overview: Occurring over the summer break, these paid positions typically last 8-12 weeks, offering invaluable industry experience.

Graduate Programs

Application Period: February to May in your final year.

Overview: Fast-tracked career pathways within specific organisations or industries offering industry-specific training and professional development. Exposure to a range of roles on a rotating basis, aiding in skill development and broadening your experience.

Graduate Jobs

Application Period: All year round in your graduating year.

Overview: Permanent positions starting immediately without rotations, providing stability and a chance to delve deep into a specific role.

If you're not confident you have a strong resume or know how to prepare for interviews, don't worry. Reach out to schedule a one-on-one consultation. Remember, I'm here to provide tailored advice and support to help you shine in the application process.

All College residents, associates and alumni are encouraged to access the Careers and Employability program:

  • One on one consultation for tailored advice including resume writing, job search strategies and interview preparation.
  • King's College job board and recruitment service
  • Interactive workshops
  • Industry attended events
  • Five annual Careers Week initiatives
  • King's College Careers Fair

Remember, your success is our priority, and I'm here to support you every step of the way on your career path.

See you in the LC!
