With excitement about the new year commencing, and some major changes coming the College's way, our Student Leadership Team is keen to be proactive on action plans to make 2026 bigger and better! Our new president, Isaac, along with the rest of the KCSC, has his eyes firmly set on creating a culture that ensures another fantastic year for all Residents and Associate Members.

We sat down with him recently to discuss what his priorities were for the College in 2026

What do you see as key priorities for 2026?

For me, some of my key priorities in 2026 are to keep improving connection alongside building on the positive culture.

I aim to strengthen the sense of community we already have, and also to make sure every student feels included, supported, and proud to be part of college life.

Why did you run for this leadership position?

I ran for the position because I care deeply about the community and the people in it. Over the last two years, I've seen how much impact good leadership can have and not just through big events, but in the everyday things that make college feel like home. I wanted to help shape that experience, to give back, and to make sure everyone here gets the most out of their time at King's in the same way I have.

What do you think are the qualities of a great leader?

I think a great leader doesn't always have the answers, but they listen, they stay calm when things get messy, and they put people first.

I hope to lead by example whilst doing the work that often goes without recognition, and make others feel valued and heard.

Leadership is about consistency, care, and setting a tone that brings out the best in everyone around the college community.

What does legacy mean to you?

Legacy, to me, is about leaving the place better than I found it. It's not about our names being remembered, but about the atmosphere we helped create and the friendships we strengthened.

If people in a few years time still feel the same sense of pride and belonging that I've felt here, that's the kind of legacy I'd be proud of.
