As a young boy, I played and watched a lot of basketball. My team, the Chicago Bulls. My player, Michael Jordan. My lucky number, 23. It was the 90's and it certainly was a good time to be into the sport. Phil Jackson was the coach of the Bulls at the time. A fantastic player himself winning multiple championships and he went on to win 11 NBA championships as a coach. His words, I feel, highlight an extremely strong foundation to success in personal, family, work, university, and sport environments.
At King's, I'm pleased to say that I see these traits in action almost every day. I was encouraged seeing our community gather last Sunday for the Henry Jennings Long Lunch. I observe the collaboration each day within the Learning Centre were King's students revel in their shared academic goals and support of each other. I've witnessed the determination as we prepare for Dancefest. And I've seen the sheer drive and commitment, leaving nothing on the sideline as we compete on the pitch.
I'm proud to say I'm a part of this community that live these values and I'm looking forward to seeing our individual and team strengths shine through as we race to the end of the year!
