Through Lynda Murphy and the King’s College recruitment service. Lynda knew I was looking for work and reached out to share the opportunity with me, inviting me to submit an application.

The application process for the job included submitting a resume and cover letter, followed by an interview.

The careers support received at Kings was incredibly helpful. Lynda guided me through the application process, suggested some improvements to my resume and cover letter and ultimately helped me secure the internship.

Describe your role as Finance Intern and your tasks in a typical day.

Fortitude are a private equity firm which invests in small to medium companies. With fifteen funds under management, each with their own set of books, there are a lot of accounting processes to be completed. Using MYOB I process expenses and prepare invoices etc.

Who do you report to? 

The Financial Controller.  

How will this employment experience support your future career plans?

As my first professional role this experience will support my future career, giving me the relevant experience and knowledge needed to succeed in the corporate world.
