Jess Robson, a second-year King's resident originally from Noosa is this year's Co-Caption of Rugby alongside Jack Breen. Jess has played the sport since she was 9 and grew up watching her older brothers at their local rugby club.

As Co-Captain, Jess oversees the Women's Rugby ICC competition. This year has seen unprecedented success with the girls being undefeated against the other UQ colleges.

Jess and Jack have also introduced a new aspect of rugby and have qualified to play in the Dubai 7s three-day tournament.

The Dubai 7s is the largest sports and entertainment festival in the Middle East and has been running since 1970. The event is held in The Sevens Stadium in the UAE.

The event will be held from the 29th of November to the 1st of December. There are 12 women's teams competing from Ireland to Kenya.

The Dubai 7s tournament offers an exciting challenge for Rugby at King's, allowing them to test their skills on an international stage. For many of the players, this will be the first time competing outside Australia.

With seasoned players like Chelsea, Lara and Kayla, who have previously competed in the Dubai 7s, the team is well-positioned to handle the intensity of the tournament. Aside from the tournament, Jess and the team are looking forward to experiencing Dubai's vibrant culture and taking part in one of the largest sports and entertainment festivals in the world.

This trip has been made possible through the sponsorships that are supporting the girls in their travels. The sponsorships for this year are First Point Asset Management, Zilch Waste Recyclers, KOCA, Bradnams Windows and Doors, Kilner Livestock Transport, UQ, UQ Union and Corporate Traveller.
