A massive congratulations to the Netball team and Netball Club for a stella season. My thanks to the captains and club committee for their drive in this space in 2025. Fantastic this week to take our (again) the Newcombe Peden Cup for 2025!
The same can be said equally for many Sports and Cultural activities, most recently our Men's Rugby and Women's Basketball teams, and 1 Act Play participants.
To those taking some time away from the College over the next few weeks, I wish you well and safe travels. I would encourage you to take time with friends and family and to have a break as we lean into the end of the 2025 academic year.
Help Shape the Future of Inter-college Sports and Culture
As you may know, the Colleges have commissioned a review into the Inter-college Sports and Cultural Program. The aim is to ensure that the Program remains relevant, deliverable and reflects the interests and needs of our students.
To do this, we need your input.
Sharpe Advisory, the firm undertaking the review, is conducting a student survey to gather feedback and ideas for improvement. Your voice is essential in shaping a program that works for everyone.

As is the case this time of year, the College would ask you to start considering whether you are looking to return to the College in 2026. As you do so, I would encourage you to also ‘check the market’ relating to living costs and availability outside of the College. It is currently a complex environment.
This year, Returner Applications will open on Tuesday 16 September**, and your application needs to be submitted no later than COB Friday 17 October. Please note, a non-refundable* Application Deposit of $500 will need to be paid with your application, and will be applied as a payment against next year’s fees.
*The $500 non-refundable deposit will only be refunded if King’s does not offer you a position in 2026 in either the Round 1 Offer (26 Nov) or Round 2 Offer (10 Dec).
**Students who have recently submitted an application, or submit one prior to 16 September, will need to be redone. Applications submitted prior to 16 September will be deleted.
*The $1,000 Code of Conduct Deposit is refundable within 7 days of departure after room is left in a suitable condition and no other issues.
The following acts as a guidance document to how Christmas Holiday room allocations are managed at King’s College.
