As we approach the busy weekend, I would like to remind the entire College of the importance of presenting the campus as best we can this weekend. Wishing all our Rowers the best ahead of the ICC as well as our Band who are playing at the Parent Cocktails.
In addition, a huge congratulations to our Men's Tennis Team who took out ICC Tennis, as well as out Debaters who head into the Grand Final on Monday evening against Duschene here at King's. Let's get behind them in support.
The King’s College community points program is designed to recognise those members of the College community who participate and contribute in a positive and meaningful way. These points will be used to aid in the room and car park allocation process but could also be utilised for Residential Leader selection, references by the College to employers or accommodation providers; and/or other decision-making procedures. They will be particularly important in helping to determine who is allocated a room when there is significant demand for that space.
Eligibility for points will be confirmed, where appropriate, with the KCSC Executive, Residential Leadership team, or College Administration. Eligible points will be derived from the current calendar year.
General Points Allocation - (Sport, Cultural and Social)
Academic
Only one of the following would apply:
Leadership
Points in this section recognise the significant role student leaders play in the life of our community.
General Community Participation – (2-5pts)
This section rewards contributions that do not fit into one of the areas above. Members may nominate to receive points for contributions, which will be ratified by RL/KCSC/Administration and decided by Administration.
With the upcoming holiday period looming, a couple of quick reminders regarding your room.....
After interviews this week, I’m happy to announce that Dr Maike Neuhaus has been appointed into the 1-year contract position of Associate Director of Student Wellbeing, while Adele is on maternity leave.
Maike holds a Doctor of Philosophy from UQ, a Master of Psychology from University of Berlin and a Bachelor of Science from University of Berlin.
Maike is a Board Member, current Lecturer, as well as being an editor and writer for Positive Psychology. She will commence her role on Monday 7 July, and I look forward to welcoming her formally to the community then.
Congratulations to a few King's Collegians who have been busy swimming for the past few months on the national stage, both at the 2025 Australian Swimming Championships in Brisbane and the Uni Sport Nationals in Sydney last week.
Lastly, we are wishing Gabby Smith the best of luck as she heads home yesterday to compete in the New Zealand Swimming Championships.
And the hard work continues, as our swimmers approach the World Championship Trials next month in Adelaide.
On behalf of King's, CONGRATULATIONS.
