From the Deputy CEO |
This week, I had the pleasure of attending two community focussed events. Pictured above is the King's contingent at the Rotary Toowong Dinner on Tuesday evening, where I had the opportunity to talk about King's, our strategy, and our Service initiatives.
Today, I had the opportunity to represent the College at the launch of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.
Right now, people across Australia are facing serious challenges—homelessness, financial hardship, domestic violence, addiction, and more. But with your help, the Salvos can continue to bring hope and change lives.
If you can, please support their incredible work: https://www.salvationarmy.org.au/donate/make-a-donation/donate-online/?appeal=rsabri
If you are in Armidale this weekend, stay safe, rug up, and look after each other! Wishing our Band and Cricketers all the best over the weekend also.
Our new Marketing & Communications Lead, Charlie, will commence with us on Tuesday 6 May.
Charlie joins us from Torrens University, where he currently serves as the Campus Life Coordinator. Before that, he was the College Dean at Burgmann College in Canberra, where he also lived on campus and served as a Residential Assistant.
When you meet Charlie, you will quickly see his passion for residential college life, which will ensure he makes a fast and smooth transition at King’s.
Our new Head Porter will also commence with us on Tuesday 6 May.
Emma is an old collegian from King's College, having been a part of the 1st cohort of women. She has a Bachelor of Arts from UQ with a double major in International Relations and Creative Writing, coupled with a Masters from UQ in Writing, Editing & Publishing.
Please make Emma welcome as she sinks into this new role.
