From the Deputy CEO |
In Andrew's absence, I wanted to give my appreciation for your efforts over the past two weeks. The Learning Centre and Chapel have been full of dedicated study, and in general most of you have been respectful of others regarding noise during this exam period - so thank you.
A reminder for you all though - there should be no reason for you using a speaker which is audible outside of your room, at any time of the day during this period. As people are finishing their last exams, it is not an excuse to then impact the studies of others. Those making poor choices in this regard will be asked to commence their holiday break earlier than planned.
Finally, the best of wishes to our Henley rowers as they depart on Monday 16 June.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday break. Stay safe, and we will see you back on campus toward the end of July.
With the upcoming holiday period looming, a couple of quick reminders regarding your room.....
The holiday period for QUT and UQ students commences on Saturday 21 June from Midday, with QUT students to return from midday Sunday 20 July and UQ students from midday Sunday 27 July. Students can leave their personal items in their room through this time even if they are not staying through the holidays.
For students wanting to stay at King's during this time, accommodation costs are $225 per week and will need to be pre-paid. Those found to be trying to avoid this, will be charged to your account on a nightly basis. Speak with Emma or Andrew if you have any unique circumstances you would like to discuss.
Applications for holiday stays can be made by following these steps:
Once you have approval you will receive an email directing you to complete the following steps:
The kitchen will be closed for this period and reopen on Sunday 20 July. UQ students wanting to stay from 20th will need to pay the additional accommodation charge.
Phone and Fob access will be turned off for this holiday period.
